Summer Solstice Camping

Camping not only puts one in touch with nature but to also appreciate some of the basics – clean water. This past weekend we camped at VEPCO (Virginia Electric Power Co) and had great fun. We camped with the Crisers from Ronnie’s side of family; took up three campsites. This is a veiw from the road above our sites.

This trip also coincided with the Summer Soltice. The moon was amazing as it rose from the mountains you kind of see on the left. Its white round orbe reflecting off the water of the lake.
In honor of this event, I made some flower wreaths, a technique I need to refine. Gloria and I are modeling my first attempts. Our trip also included fun in the sun and water. It was extremely cold; however, I dont believe the young seem to be affected like we are. There was also a basketball game, the old foggies vs the whipper snappers. Very entertaining, I am just sad that my camera was out of room. Looks like I need to get a bigger memory card. We will continue the camping this coming 4th of July weekend. More pictures then!
